I'm currently playing with two paddles from the Luzz Glider 2026 series: the Chris Haworth Glider 2026 Hybrid and the Swallow Glider 2026 Hybrid.
Both have given me great control at the kitchen, but after playing with them, there's one difference I noticed right away.
The Chris Haworth is noticeably grittier than the Swallow.
Since I enjoy experimenting with topspin drives, backspin returns, and spin variations on my serves, that difference caught my attention. The Chris Haworth has a rougher-feeling surface, while the Swallow feels smoother in comparison.
In terms of control, both have been solid for my game. I've also noticed that the Glider series gives me a more controlled feel around the kitchen, helping me work on keeping the ball down instead of popping it up.
Does the extra grit automatically make the Chris Haworth better at generating spin? Not necessarily. I haven't measured spin rates or conducted controlled tests, so I'm sticking to what I can honestly say from my experience.
My verdict? Both paddles have their strengths, but the Chris Haworth stands out to me because of its grittier surface. The Swallow is still a solid paddle in my experience, and I enjoy playing with both.
This isn't a laboratory test or a paid sales pitch. It's simply my experience as a player who's still learning, improving, and figuring out what works best on the court.
Have you tried either of these paddles? What's your experience with them?
