What is DUPR?
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is the most widely used open rating for recreational and tournament players. It updates after rated matches so partners can see your level before open play.
PaddleBag links to your DUPR profile — we do not calculate ratings ourselves. See our Link Reclub & DUPR guide for adding your profile URL.
Step 1: Create a free DUPR account
- Go to dupr.com and sign up with email or social login.
- Complete your profile (name, location, dominant hand).
- Copy your public profile URL for PaddleBag settings.
Step 2: Get your first rating
You can start in two ways:
- Self-rate — Answer a short questionnaire about your experience. Good for brand-new players who have not played rated games yet.
- Verified rating — Play matches that are submitted to DUPR (club nights, leagues, tournaments, or partner apps). Results move your rating up or down.
Most beginners self-rate first, then replace it with verified results after a few sessions.
Step 3: Play rated games
Ask your club or open-play organizer if they submit scores to DUPR. Many Philippines clubs now use DUPR for round-robin nights. Each submitted match nudges your rating toward reality.
Tips for new players
- Do not stress about the exact number at first — consistency matters more than perfection.
- Link DUPR on your PaddleBag passport so partners know what to expect.
- Re-rate honestly if you self-rated too high or too low; verified games will correct it over time.
What PaddleBag does not do
We do not sync live DUPR data yet. Paste your profile link in Settings so others can tap through to the official site.
